Spicy Turkey Burgers with Cilantro-Lime Aioli

These Spicy Turkey Burgers are served with a cilantro lime aioli to bring them to another level. Perfect to start your outdoor grilling.

Ingredients
  

For the burgers
  • 2 lbs ground turkey (85% lean)
  • 1/2 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1/2 red onion, finely diced
  • 1 egg, whisked
  • 1 jalapeno, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp melted ghee
  • 2 tbsp almond milk
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • olive oil for cooking
For the aioli
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup mayo (I used primal kitchen)
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • salt and pepper to taste
For serving
  • butter lettuce
  • sliced tomatoes
  • sliced avocados
  • buns (optional)

Method
 

  1. In a bowl combine all burger ingredients, except for the olive oil. Mix well.
  2. Using your hands, form 6 even sized patties .
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. When hot, transfer patties without overcrowding and cook for about 5 minutes per side. Be careful not to burn.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, place all the aioli ingredients in a blender. Blend well.
  5. When burgers are ready, transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels.
  6. Assemble your burgers and enjoy!
